Power UP, Oshawa!
Durham CAS staff were proud to attend Power UP with youth for an empowering, exciting, and challenging day of leadership, learning, and self expression. We were especially honoured to help welcome Power UP to Oshawa for the first time 🙌
Rooted in uplifting Black youth in and from care, the day was filled with honest conversations, confidence building, and powerful youth voices. We left inspired and energized by the brilliance and leadership of the young people who showed up authentically.

World Water Day 2026 invites us to reflect on the importance of water as a source of life and connection. This year’s theme, “Water and Gender Equality,” highlights how access to water supports dignity and well‑being. We recognize the deep relationship Indigenous communities have with water and the shared responsibility to protect it for future generations. Where water flows, equality grows.
Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. We recognize the importance of creating spaces where all children, youth, and families feel respected, included, and safe. Building a community rooted in equity and dignity is a responsibility we all share.
Today we recognize Nowruz, the Persian New Year, marking the arrival of spring and a time of renewal, hope, and new beginnings. We extend our warm wishes to all who observe and celebrate the season of fresh starts.
Today, March 20, we recognize Two‑Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQQIA+ Celebration and Awareness Day, honouring the resurgence of Two‑Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQQIA+ identities across Turtle Island. We come together to acknowledge unique experiences and reaffirm the importance of access to culture, support, and resources that foster belonging and well‑being.
