Let’s Get Social
June marks Pride Month—a time to recognize and honour the diverse identities, experiences, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Pride has its roots in advocacy and resistance, and continues to be a time to amplify voices, advance equity, and foster belonging. It is also an opportunity to reflect on how we can support safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone.
Throughout the month, we acknowledge the many intersecting identities within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, including Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse individuals, whose experiences and leadership are essential.
As an organization, we remain committed to learning, listening, and taking action to create an environment where all people feel respected, supported, and seen.

Durham Children’s Aid Society met with MP Juanita Nathan to highlight the agency’s ongoing commitment to supporting children, youth, and families who identify as part of the Asian diaspora.
The discussion highlighted Durham CAS’s leadership in equity-driven practice, the role of research in shaping responsive services, and its continued focus on service excellence.
MP Nathan expressed strong interest in the agency’s efforts to strengthen culturally grounded supports and advance equitable outcomes for Asian communities across the region.
Today on Children and Youth in Care Day, Durham CAS recognizes the strength, voices, and stories of children and youth in care.
As they continue #RisingInStrengthAndStory, we remain committed to walking alongside them and supporting every step forward.
For all the incredible caregivers and everyone in a mom role, you are seen and loved. Happy Mother`s day.
