When you or your family are receiving services from a Children’s Aid Society, you have the right to:
- Be treated with respect
- Expect services in a professional and timely manner
- Be involved in making decisions regarding you and your family
- Be involved in the development of service plans for your family
- Have your questions answered and reasons for decisions explained
- Be able to provide feedback or express concerns or complaints without fear
- Have your information kept confidential
- Be given access to your personal information in your record upon your request
As a young person in the care of the Children’s Aid Society living in a foster home, group home, treatment home and/or a youth custody facility, you are entitled to certain things while receiving services. If you feel that your rights aren’t being met or respected, you have the right to make a complaint to the Children and Youth Unit at the Ombudsman’s Office. You contact the Ombudsman by:
