Together, we’re giving families across Durham Region the dignity, belonging, and joy that come from creating their own holiday magic.

The Heart of Holiday Hope

For more than 50 years, Holiday Hope has brought warmth and connection to children, youth, and families supported through Durham Children’s Aid Society. What began as neighbours “adopting” families has grown into a region-wide movement of compassion.

Now led by the Durham Children’s Aid Foundation, Holiday Hope has evolved into a model rooted in dignity, belonging, and the power of choice. Through the new Holiday Hope Shop at the Oshawa Centre, caregivers personally select gifts and essentials for their children, creating a holiday experience that feels truly their own.

It’s a small change with a big impact: dignity for parents, joy for children, and a community where everyone belongs.
