We’re back!
Since 2019, Durham CAS has partnered with all eight Durham Region Public Libraries to present our annual, hugely popular, award winning, family-friendly community event, Drag Queen Storytime. The events are incredibly popular with full capacity crowds of children and their caregivers. The events feature drag queens reading children’s books and dancing to songs that celebrate diversity and inclusion, and promote love and respect in a safe family friendly space.
In 2023, we were honoured to receive the Ontario Library Association’s Les Fowlie Intellectual Freedom and Joyce Cunningham Library Boards of the Year Award for the collaborative efforts of presenting the Drag Queen Storytime series of events in Durham Region.
We are thrilled to welcome back some of our favourite drag queens to entertain families in celebration of Pride Month in Durham Region. This year we have new locations for two of the events: Pickering Public Library will be hosting storytime at the George Ashe Branch and Whitby Public Library will be hosting their event at the Heydenshore Pavilion.
See you there!
