Youth Pride: June 17
We had an incredibe Youth Pride event this year. Great weather + wonderful people + amazing dancing and music + excellent services and resources + cotton candy and face painting = ONE FABULOUS DAY!
Thank you to everyone who made Youth Pride a success. We had a record 45 community agencies participating in our biggest ever Resource Village highlighting all of the excellent services and supports availabe in Durham Region.
We were thrilled to welcome back Sofonda and Wilma Checklear, and welcome for the first time, Kami Leon. As always, they put on a spectacular show. We also were ecstatic to have a surprise visit from Queen Priyanka, winner of the first-ever Canada’s Drag Race.
We’d also like to thank DJ Sumation for providing the amazing soundtrack for the day. And new this year, the incredible Fierce & Fab Mini-Ball dance competition presented by the House of Monroe blew eveyone away with their incredible moves… and got few of us up dancing!
We are starting to think about next year, and we’d love your feedback on the day. Please share your thoughts with us in this short survey.
