Just For You(th)

Durham CAS provides a variety of supports for the children and youth in our care; for older youth, we focus that support on helping them to prepare to live independently.

When youth in care turn 18, they are no longer legally ‘children in care.’ They begin their lives as independent adults, sometimes before they are ready, and sometimes without the support of a strong and caring family. That’s why we begin before they turn 18 to help youth prepare for when they do.

In addition to providing life skills workshops and a drop-in facility at our office, we also provide information here on matters such as financial assistance, post-secondary education, local health resources, employment, housing and legal assistance.

These pages are designed specifically to assist youth in our care, but we are happy to share this information with other youth and families in our community.
